1 /5 Michael Townsend: I come here twice a year for cleaning and have had a great experience until this year.
My wife and I have been going to NM Dental for 6 years for routine cleanings and X rays, every 6 months that was fully covered by my dental insurance. North Macon charged $96 for “additional X-rays” saying I consented to having them, when I was under the impression that they were routine X-rays. There was no talk that these were not part of the routine X-rays covered by insurance prior to X-rays bending done so I was shocked when I received a bill from NM Dental.
In the 6 years of being a patient here, I NEVER had to pay any additional money outside of insurance until this year. My wife called and spoke to someone in billing who claimed that I consented to having additional X-rays which is not true. I was told that it was time to have updated X-rays, but nothing
about additional ones. I believe that NM Dental started doing this to get more money out of their patients. My wife will also get a $96 bill for the X-rays after a recent visit for the same reason, although she didn’t consent to them either. Needless to say, we will have find another dentist to go to for cleanings.
This is the response I get from them after calling and trying to work out the charges. They insist that I was told about the extra charges for additional X-rays.
