5 /5 Mara Edwards: Long post, worth the read!!
My fiancé and I got engaged around Christmas 2024, at the time I had a ring but we wanted to look together for a style I liked and something of good quality. I am a researcher, so when I say I looked EVERYWHERE I mean that. One of the common themes social media kept suggesting was a local jeweler, I was having a hard time finding one in the Atlanta area that seemed genuine (not like a scam). During my troubles finding somewhere local I started looking at department stores that may have been running good sales or even the normal big box stores. On this particular day I looked at JcPenney at North Point mall, I saw something I liked that was a decent price and purchased it. Two things about my JcPenney experience stood out to me. First, the lady behind the counter was extremely impatient and annoyed with me wanting to look at and try on rings at one point she even said “Do you plan on buying anything” and I felt almost pressured into buying something to feel like I wasn’t waisting her time. Second, I’m a size 8 in rings and I would have to buy a plan, have the ring sent off and sized BUT when it came in, if it wasn’t something I liked (now that I could actually see it on my finger) JcPenney wouldn’t do a refund. In that moment I knew, if you aren’t 100% sure about this ring, go ahead and return it, so I did.
Then I went to Shane Co. it was a decent experience but part of me felted not as “valued” because I didn’t have a large budget, I ended up not finding something I LOVED and left.
FINALLY, it was a Sunday late afternoon, I knew many things wouldn’t be open but I googled “jewelry stores near me”( I live about 45 minutes from this area so I wasn’t sure what was around) needless to say I found Nedrick Gavin.
Nedrick and Claudette had beautiful smiling faces the moment I walked in. I shared my budget and my ring shopping history and Nedrick went out of his way to find the best quality diamond, give me advice, and knowledge about diamonds. Like I said I’m a researcher so I KNEW everything he was saying was genuine because it aligned with all of the things I was reading.
We worked together to find something in my budget, this included me going on his website and looking at the different qualities of diamond. I purchased a loose diamond 1.45 CT and when I came in to see the diamond and talk about what band to mount the diamond to, I kid you not Nedrick suggested something when I walked in the door that was twins with the inspiration photo I showed him, it’s like he knew before he knew. What felt real to me, was the respect for my budget, giving me information and insight that a sales person who’s just trying to get to you to spend money would never give and his years of experience in the industry and the great customer service. I want to flag, this is a CUSTOM experience. Yes, you’ll come in a see a few pieces of this and a few pieces of that in the jewelry case but what you are coming for is the “Nedrick Experience”. Come with pictures of things that you like, cuts, style of band etc. and he will bring your dream ring to life.
My ring was made in 2 1/2 weeks, and when I heard it was ready for pick up I zoomed over the very next day. I have pictures attached below because I couldn’t upload a video, but the pictures don’t do justice. With my budget, I got a fulfilled dream in return, something I didn’t think I could get otherwise. This is a jeweler you can trust, this is the experience you want, this is where you need to get your jewelry! If you were hesitant or still shopping around, stop here!
Lastly , I have the pride of saying that my ring was made custom for me, by a black jeweler and for me that the icing on the cake.
You have a lifetime customer and I will share your name whenever I go, 10/10 recommend.
