New Horizon School - Pasadena Irfana Hashmi: We had a very bad experience with New Horizons Pasadena, from poor communication (our first tour, where we were greeted by 3 people, ended with them telling us our younger daughter, for whom we were touring, was too young to start that year), to finally applying and being told that our older daughter was not performing at grade level in Kindergarten and therefore could not be admitted to First Grade. I was surprised that they were unable to understand her report card--she had 90s across the subjects. We asked the director of my older ones private school to reach out to the folks at NHS to speak to our daughters performance and they never responded to her email or our query. I found the school administration to be unprofessional and acting in bad faith. I delayed writing this review for some time because I think it is important for Islamic institutions in the West to be supported by the community. Having said that, I found this one was disappointing and it left a really bad impression. This review is not meant to be an attack but constructive feedback for the admin and advice for parents (who never have enough time) looking for a place for their little ones. Maranatha High School - Pasadena Cheryl Fender: Nice Christian high school. Thank God, you dont have to go to public school. Great foundation in Christianity, and Christian lifestyle. Not the perfect teenagers. Some of the educators, are off. Excellent academics. They let you work, as much as you would ever love.
