Homer A. Plessy Community School - New Orleans Kitten Plays!: I was a student who went to McDonogh 15 as a child, before and after Katrina, though I know the historical importance of the Plessy schools name I feel it important to note that the new school building the school has been moved in to has historical importance as it was built before the civil war, as a history buff I would like to hope that the building itself will not go through any physical outside change because of the historical significance. And if outside physical changes are made I will petition for them to be reversed as to keep the historical school alive, many of John McDonoghs school have already been changed and I feel like 15 should be the one too keep the way it is as it is in the historical French Quarter. Esperanza Academy Middle School - New Orleans Javetta Brogan: Lafayette Middle School is a fantastic school that provides a learning experience that enhances the growth of every student regardless of their short comings. It also offers a wholesome
environment that stimulate the mind both academically and socially. Ecole Bilingue De La Nouvelle-Orléans - New Orleans Omote Ekwotafia-Thélin: My daughter has not been at this school for a few years, but I still think fondly of it! EB offers a quality education and encourages critical thinking. Beyond that, the lunch options are amazing and their administration is organized in such a way that I can trust that they know what they are doing. When organization is done well it is easily missed, but it is so critical. When the pandemic hit, I was SO thankful we were at EB, because their response was immediate and thoughtful. Finally, every school could stand to be more diverse, but I appreciate that they know that and believe they make genuine efforts to increase diversity. If we were to move back to New Orleans, I would definitely return to EB!
