Chipola College - Marianna Jim Walker: I went from LPN to RN in their bridge nursing program a few years ago. They worked us very hard because there was so much to master in a short time but the professors knew their stuff and were scrupulously fair and positive. Atmosphere was one of much camaraderie and they did all possible to help us go out and be successful. Florida Gulf Coast University - Fort Myers Mercado Steffan: Gorgeous campus. However unless your a freshman living in sovi there are pretty much no offered benefits. The school puts more budget into incoming freshman than all the rest of your years combined. The teachers in physics and science dept. are impossibly hard. Can’t get a lot of the classes to graduate in 4 years. Most people here aren’t super friendly and it’s hard to make long term friends unless in a sorority/frat. The staff are mostly lazy and rude. Most everything that has hours opens 30mins late and closes an hour before closing time. There are so many pools and a lake but you can’t use any of these if there is any sort of inclimate weather or between 12-5pm. West lake is the best for living aka least dumb rules. Southern Technical College - Port Charlotte - Port Charlotte Kayla Powell: I was sent in to the school from a graduate that took a program here. When I arrived I was automatically treated just like family and I wasn’t even a student yet! I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Alicia helped me by taking very valuable time and asking me questions that would help me make the ultimate life changing discussion that I’ve needed. We went over a few things and she also involved my sister who tagged along with me she absolutely loved that she got to see the labs and the school. Before I knew it Alicia asked when I was wanting to get started I told her as soon as possible. She said it was perfect timing a class starts next month, before I knew it I was signing up for my very first class, filling out for my financial aid. The staff here is OUTSTANDING!!!!! They are very understanding, if you need to talk with anyone their doors always open, they listen and always have you feeling better before you leave their office! The Medical Assistant program is where it’s at! Great instructors only month long classes that I love only 4 hour days and I still have time to do things that need to get done during the day College of Central Florida, Wilton Simpson Citrus Campus - Lecanto Jocelyn manzi: If I could give less than a 1 star I would. Please please please don’t go here if you’re new to college. The advisors don’t know anything about your classes. I signed up for online classes to constantly have to go in for exams. As a mother or if you work please seek a different college. The AVAILABILITY is not there for classes. Waited 4 months to sign up for a class and another 4 months to start the class to find out I had to go in person once a week. When mentioned I can’t make the in person class I got told “other professors will work with you” now I have to wait 4 months to take the same class but different professor. I’ve been in college for 4 years and don’t even have my associates yet because this school sets people up to fail. It’s all about money to them. Check other reviews because I know I’m not the only one they have done this to. I will be messaging the board of education and bringing this to their attention. When I went in person a lot of students agreed this school is a joke. Florida International University - Miami Paul DeBoer: This is an awesome public School. The curriculum is great . The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The dorms and class rooms are nice and clean. Opportunity for improvement is improve the dorm meeting situation. Tiamiami Hall has kitchens but no cafeteria. My son is a junior transfer and was able to stay at Tiamiami hall. It is an absolutely beautiful dormatory. Unfortunately for his senior year, they have been told that they will not be able to stay at this nice dorm. They are offering dorm to new only. Its a bit disappointing. College of Central Florida Ocala Campus - Ocala Chelsie Ski Blackwell: Amazing people are very supportive of the students well-being and safety. Great place to get started on your college path and get your AA as well as many specialties. Huge focus on students mental health and small classes. Hoping to get my radiography degree in the long run, the testing staff helped me with a test that helped me figure out what path was best for me! Love this place so many things on campus to check out and always something going on! The professors are the best! Saint Leo University - St Leo Haley Anderson: This year was my first year at Saint Leo, and it was the best thing ever!
I came to Saint Leo, from The Bahamas, and I was afraid of the adjustment and the major cultural differences. However, upon arrival to Saint Leo, everyone was so welcoming, the campus was beautiful and it just felt like home from Day 1! Youre not just another number at the school, youre professors and advisors really do know you by name, and they care about you and your progress.
Theres always something going on on Campus so youre really never bored, and everyone is so friendly, so youll always have a friend around. Im super excited for my sophomore year!
Saint Leo has been one of the best choices Ive made! University of South Florida St. Petersburg Campus - St. Petersburg Noah Pascuzzi: My one and only class on this campus had a pair of special needs to students. One of them was continually disruptive and significantly reduced the effectiveness of the education and ability of myself and other students to focus during class. It came across as a shallow attempt by USF to convey a message of inclusivity.
