Daniels School - LaBelle Don Browne: In 1937, the north wing of the Sears school was brought to LaBelle and became the Daniels School, in Fordson Park subdivision developed by M.J. Meckler of Tampa in 1926 during the Florida real estate boom. (The community of Sears was developed in 1925 south of LaBelle as a lumber producing town for Sears and Roebucks mail order houses.) The school at one time was called the Public Industrial School (probably in the 1970s.)
