Lake Conroe Christian Academy - Conroe Kaity Fisher: I enrolled my twin boys for preschool at Lake Conroe Christian Academy right when registration opened. I paid in full for the entire school year for both boys. As the summer passed and my boys struggled with potty training, I reached out to the school a little over two weeks before they were supposed to start. I understood their policy that the three-year-olds must be fully potty trained to be in class. I told them about my boy struggling with potty training and that we are making progress, but I wasn’t sure they would be fully potty trained by the start date. I asked if there was a flexibility or if they were firm on that. They were firm on that and I told them I inderstood so I would have to withdraw them because they wouldn’t meet the requirements. They said they were very thankful for me reaching out before the school year started so that they could get that class filled. I knew they had a pretty large waitlist.
I went to get my refund check and they would not refund two months worth of tuition for each of my boys. $700+ worth of tuition. They pointed out to me that when I signed my registration packet it states that the first month of tuition and last months of the school tuition is nonrefundable. I understand that I didn’t read thoroughly, and I really thought my boys would be fully potty trained and didn’t anticipate ever having to pull them out. My main frustration was because the school year had not even started yet (2 weeks till start time) and they had already filled my spot by the time I went to go pick up my check. If the school year had already started, I totally understand that and it is what it is. But I feel like this situation was very different and it was incredibly greedy of them to not refund my money when my boys had not stepped foot in that school one time, school had not even started, and they were very clear that there was a large waitlist so they had those spots filled immediately.
Just FYI for anyone that might possibly be in the same situation in the future. Grace Crossing Academy - Conroe michael marcelissen: Our 3 year old son has been going to Grace Crossing Academy for almost a year. He was a hyper 2 year old who spoke very little due to his older brother having Autism ( non-verbal). Now he is talking up a storm and has great behaviors. The staff at GCA are thoughtful, Friendly, and understanding. They really do take care of your child and give them great life lessons. As a parent we feel safe that our kid is safe there. I would recommend this academy to anyone. Very very much appreciative of everything they do for our son and us. Bartlett Elementary School - Conroe Michelle Fontel: Bartlett Elementary School – A Serious Concern for Parents
I’m honestly shocked and disappointed with the way Bartlett Elementary School is being run. This is one of the worst school environments I’ve come across.
Imagine this: a bus driver telling a child they’ll run them over—and the school does absolutely nothing when it’s reported. It’s not just one incident either. Another bus driver consistently picks on a child simply because she doesn’t like her. This kind of targeting is unacceptable, especially from an adult who’s supposed to ensure our children’s safety.
Even worse, there are clear instances of racism happening on the bus, and again—nothing is being done. No accountability. No change. Just silence.
Parents, this is not okay. Our children deserve to feel safe, protected, and respected. If the school won’t step up, then we as a community need to speak out louder.
Enough is enough.
