Reviews College of San Mateo (by GG)
4 /5 Elizabeth Wu: Beautiful view of the Bay and San Francisco
5 /5 Sandra Rosas Olden: Its free! This community college is one of the prettiest schools that Ive visited. There are walking trails, and there is an awesome view of the bay.
4 /5 Marcus Aurelius: Jazz on the hill at College of San Mateo has always been a vibe and is the kick off to the summer music festival season.
4 /5 KGQ NYC: This review is not on the academics or admissions of The College of San Mateo but the walkability of the campus. The College of San Mateo is a beautiful place to walk and exercise with lovely panoramic views. A great place to get exercise with hills, stairs, and flat areas to walk.
5 /5 Bradley Naranch: There are some amazing high tech headquarters in Silicon Valley but most are off limits to the public. Apple in Cupertino. Google in Mountain View. Facebook in East Palo Alto. Amazon basically everywhere. But the cool thing about the College of San Mateo is that it is public land funded by local tax revenues that ordinary people can visit. No need to be Mark Zuckerberg or Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos or some other billionaire like the Google founders. It’s prime real estate for sure. The best land for miles around. But you can actually visit with your kids. Get in some steps on your iPhone Health app. Steve Jobs would have loved it. It’s as American as apple pie and as enduring as eternity.
Cañada College - Redwood CityKGQ NYC: This review is not about the academics of Cañada College or it’s admissions process, but rather the grounds and walkability. The aesthetics of Cañada College are simply beautiful. The college is set up high with panoramic views all around the campus. The buildings architecture is modern and strikingly beautiful. A great place to walk because it gives you opportunity for stairs, hills, and flat ground. A great workout!
McKinley Institute of Technology - Redwood Cityalgebros: To be honest, McKinley could be a better school. There are very rude students who do heavy swearing a lot, every time I pass by to get hot lunch, everyday. They even do it in front of those 3rd and 4th graders, I see them and they be droppin F-bombs and B-bombs everywhere. Some students, SOME students I can tell are very nice, and some are nice in front of teachers then automatically switch to a gangster-like mood. I am not saying that McKinley is a bad school, its just that it could be waaay better. Apart from swearing, they interrupt a whole bunch of times too. Once I was in 5th grade, my class was going to the library, and on the way above us was a McKinley Classroom dropping pens and markers down. I hope they did not do this on purpose, because my teacher stopped and was sort of annoyed. Then, one day in 6th grade, a McKinley kid stuck his head inside the classroom window and looked around. I do not remember him saying anything in particular, except it has happened before as well, when my friend told me a kid was outside and bothering the beehive up in the tree. This not only directed my teachers attention to the students outside, interrupting the class, but the bees were harmed too. Overall, I think McKinley has gotten a BIT better on the swearing part, and maybe improved a bit on niceness, but still, it would be nice for us to get along better. I have seen comments mostly from NSA students (I am one myself) and they say things like: "Too much mean people", or "People are swearing everywhere", and hopefully we can get along better in the future.
ok that took 15 minutes
Notre Dame de Namur University - BelmontAnna Pacheco: I love my University. Just took my daughter on a "tour" of where I went to school. Brings back great memories! Its great to see it still here and hopefully will be here for many more years for her to attend later in life! Best Teacher Training Program around. Go NDNU
Menlo College - AthertonKimberly Wiefling: Menlo College campus is a beautiful space close to the heart of downtown Menlo Park. Featuring plenty of outdoor areas for sports, walking, or even outdoor workshops, it’s a gem of the SF Bay Area Peninsula. We rent it for our Technology Venture Launch Programs to host entrepreneurs from around the world for a Silicon Valley innovation experience.
Sofia University - Palo AltoSean Andre: Originating from Europe, I pursued my studies there before relocating to the United States. The American educational system presented distinct challenges, necessitating a period of adjustment. I am so glad I chose Sofia University as my destination. The university community is characterized by warmth and willingness to assist, and all faculty members actively engage in community projects, providing support and guidance to individuals. Their expertise stems from their personal experiences, as they embody the knowledge they impart. In contrast, during my time in Europe, I encountered only one university professor who exhibited such a caring demeanor. The rest resided in an intellectual utopia surrounded by books, disconnected from reality. In Sofia University, I was astounded when one teacher shared her involvement in volunteer work in women’s prisons, writing a book about children, and having her own family. This individual embodies the qualities I aspire to emulate and learn from.
Skyline College - San BrunoHao Nguyen: Let me tell you how I do love this college. It’s incredible!!! Last semester, I still believed that Skyline was a quite quiet college because students and staffs might be affected by the foggy and cold weather all the time. I wanted an active college where has very energetic generations of students. Since that ideas had popped up in my mind, I chose CSM for my first semester even though it takes me 20-30 minutes to get there while I drive to Skyline in 5 minutes. But in Spring 2020 semester, I wanted to try it out. I signed up 2 classes. First day at school, I have a lot of confusions about facilities and the system, but from students to staffs, all of them were super nice and friendly to help me out. I could grab whoever I met on my path, and they showed me very detailed information. My professors are awesome, too. Very kind and passionate. Overall, people here are not low energy like I thought before.
