Bill Fong I came to tour Laney College during an enrollment event advertised on television and because they offered free tuition for the fall 2023 semester. After touring the campus, I found the campus fine for being an urban college. It is next to the Lake Merritt BART station, making commuting easier for its students — they even offered a free AC Transit pass of those enrolled half-time. I was amazed they even offered free meals and books to their students for fall.

Jordan Thomas DO NOT GO TO THIS SCOOL! Im currently taking classes for an industry I already work in. I can assure you these teacher have no clue what they are talking about or doing. The young people in my classes will turn out and realize that not a single thing that was taught will be applicable for the work place.

Vlogsoryx Laney College is in a terrible location. The campus is surrounded by homelessness, making it feel unsafe and unwelcoming. I’ve seen people camping out, using drugs, and acting aggressively near the school. Walking to class, especially in the evening, can be downright unsettling. The administration doesn’t seem to be doing enough to keep students safe, and security is minimal. It’s a shame because the school itself might be decent, but the environment makes it hard to focus. If safety and peace of mind matter to you, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Shlok D This place is dead. There was nobody around, all the buildings were closed, and the dining halls are sad. I wouldnt wish my worst enemy to live here for a year. My prayers go out to the students there

Rodolfo Vargas no idea if the school is worth the money one would have to pay to own a certificate from it; it would appear whatever monies are acquired through this institution, it definitely isnt going into building upkeep.

Faysal Farook Best decision of my life to go here. I got a fantastic education at a reasonable price & made lifelong friends. Almost everyone you meet here is impressive, going places or doing something meaningful with their lives. Learned a-lot from this diversified environment within 3years. Best professors any university could get. The campus is small but that doesnt affect the quality of education. For new students including the current students, the student service team is really helpful including all the aspects about housing, events, job placement, etc.

Yahya Ghaith I’m proud that I am getting my Masters in Business here, and they are really a great, accomodating Universty . The professors are great, and I have met so many cool people from all different countries. The university itself is clean and very modern. The technology is great, and most important the resources are great. I am proud to be getting my MBA at Lincoln University !

Meb Bem I took several courses at Merritt, initially thinking it would be easy, just because its a community college. I was VERY mistaken. The courses I took were rigorous and the instructors had high standards of expectation. The curriculum was no skate. My experience there was great and I would recommend this college to anyone. By the way, DePaul University in Chicago accepted my Merritt credits without blinking.

Onyango Kevin I love the ambience around this place beautiful view, alot of green and very silent unless there is an event.

Zack Doctor Adoria Williams is a wonderful librarian! She is a wealth of information and a powerful resource. Few people understand the glory of the library, but she does and the best part is, she will help you on your journey to greatness. I’d say I donated a book, but realistically, she donated her time and recommendations... so I guess she earned it!

Compulsive Reviewer What used to be a quality, albeit an expensive education at a quality institution has degraded into nothing more than a typical private college, pay your money get your degree. A lot of the instructors are less than knowledgeable about subjects that most persons in the same subject field at a four year degree level would know. Complaints against faculty that are legitimate and provable are met at first with a sweep it under the rug mentality and if a student continues to push the issue, with outright and blatant retaliation. Classes are changed with no regards to the syllabus, instructors are often unreachable, lacking in knowledge and less than professional. The old adage of you get what you pay for does not hold true for this less than stellar, so called educational institution.

Ken Wong 9-18-21: Visited the book store off of 30th Street and saw these very cool murals painted outside near the parking area. It really livens up the space!

The Ivy was so thick on the fence you could only see little pin holes of a view of the house and grounds I love looking up and down that street I lived just a couple blocks above Patten University

LOUPO PROGRAM Our son learned how to read and write with no previous experience, in kindergarten. He’s been memorizing one scripture per week since, and he’s also completing book reports now, in the third grade.

Lucas Ramos Oikos University offers high-quality education with dedicated professors and modern facilities. The campus is well-located with easy access to public transportation. The environment is welcoming and ideal for learning. I highly recommend it for those seeking a solid education and great academic support!

Sara Lim Oikos University operates with integrity and honesty. Their tuition is reasonably priced and the education is high quality.

Matt Reinig Kevin Kenny is an excellent communicator and collaborator who answered my many questions thoroughly and mindfully. Working remotely makes it difficult to envision how things would work but Kevin gave his best. He even mentioned things that I didn’t ask about that he thought would be helpful in having a successful event. That is the definition of someone who really wants your events to be successful. While ultimately we went with a different venue, Kevin’s kindness, thoughtfulness, and professionalism earned 5 stars from me. Another shout out to Bang and Neha who helped set up the room to see if it would work for us. I highly recommend considering this as a venue of choice!

Dillon Carlos Beautiful and historic building. An Oakland landmark and one of the oldest womens colleges in the United States. This is a special place to see regardless of your gender, and the more who appreciate this place, the better the tradition can be preserved!

Barragan Ezequiel “Zeke” Visited the site only for the historic Mills Hall and found by accident Julian Morgan (architect, Hearst Castle) piece of work. The site is fantastic and is centrally located in the heart of Mills College.

Roneet Beneishai I cannot express how instrumental and valuable College Track has been to my sons academic and social development throughout high school. CT has been a huge part of my sons life for the past 4 years. He has benefited from so many opportunities/services they provide; internships, volunteering, career development, emotional and academic support, as well as academic performance incentives. Most importantly, CT has been a source of information and encouragement. Helping him realize his goals of not only being accepted into a UC, but also guided into programs to help pay for his education. As of this fall, he will be a first generation college student at a California University. We are beyond grateful to the amazing, energetic and supportive College Track team.

Rory Rockalot As DJ Rockalot I performed here and appreciated the relaxed slower pace of this campus. Plenty of parking and all the staff were wonderful. I lit up the outside of the building which really made it pop and easy for guest to locate!
