Covenant Presbyterian Church

Isa L B While my automobile was inoperable for the holidays, I spoke to the Pastor about trying to work for them to make money to pay for the repairs. She spoke to her husband (also a Pastor) and although they didn’t have any work for me, agreed to not have my vehicle towed as long as I move it by the following Friday, which was quite the relief as I’ve had other major vehicle expenses recently and didn’t need a tow expense on top of another major vehicle repair. Just for that act of kindness, I pushed my vehicle off of their lot as soon as I could so as to not worry or trouble them any further. Small acts of kindness go a long way in my book. Thank you!

St Gregorys Episcopal Church

cyndivr My wife and I feel blessed to have found an inclusive spiritual home at St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church. The community is welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community in word and deed. Thanks to Father Michael for the valuable spiritual counseling before our wedding, for officiating our special day, and for creating a nurturing spiritual space for our family. We look forward to being a part of the congregation as a family. Thank you and God Bless!

Lakewood Village Community Church

Michelle Cortado Excellent community. Very friendly and inviting. My son went to preschool at the LVCC preschool, and now he enjoys the Sunday school. Pastor Steve always delivers an interesting and relevant sermon. We tried a few parishes, this is the one we decided to call home.

St. Athanasius Catholic Church

Theresa Smith Beautiful church! Contains a gift store and a large running holy water font. Very friendly priests and congregants. The mass said was most beautiful and the gospel was well narrated and even translated! I enjoyed the surprise of an after mass celebration of the "Santo Niño", had by the Philipino community in the parish hall.

Pacific Baptist Church

King Ram My family and I attended this church for about a year, and overall, we loved it. I gave my life to the Lord in May of 2014, but I found this church in 2018. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2024 that I committed to attending regularly. I felt God tugging at my heart and calling me to make this commitment, so I started attending, and soon after, my wife and son joined me. This church has a very tight-knit community where most members seem to have grown up together. While that creates a sense of familiarity and unity, it can make it difficult for newcomers to build relationships. There were a few individuals who really went out of their way to connect with us, and one standout was Joseph, the assistant pastor. Joseph genuinely cared about building a relationship with my family and made an effort to make us feel welcome. I also attended Joseph’s class, which was a great opportunity to engage and grow spiritually. However, I had a different experience with one of the leaders. On more than one occasion, I tried to start a conversation, but the leader often walked away or didn’t seem interested in connecting. To clarify, I wasn’t looking for validation from men, but I believe it’s important to build a relationship with those we choose to have a significant influence in our lives. One thing to note is that being a part of this family of believers requires baptism. Despite the challenges in connecting with that leader, I still grew tremendously in my personal relationship with God during my time at this church. A major transformation happened in my life because I really zoned in on what God was calling me to have faith in. To anyone joining this church, or any church for that matter, I encourage you to take your relationship with God seriously. Don’t make it about you and man, but about you and God. Take every step in faith and involve God in all your decision-making. Most importantly, make sure you are spending more time in the Word of God than with anyone or anywhere else to ensure you’re grounded in the truth. This church has been a blessing, and while there’s room for improvement in some areas, I’m thankful for the growth I experienced during my time here. I will definitely be coming back whenever I’m in town.
