4 /5 Jazmin Rodriguez: First time attending this church and decided to visit during their sunrise Easter worship. Entering, the greeters were amazing!!The pastors wife, I believe her name is Jess was the one who spoke. Initially I thought it was going well, as she emphasized on the love of Jesus and how we should reflect that to others. She continued to share about Peter and how upset he was. And she provided her personal example which I understand her intentions but it kind of defeated her "encouragement" about radiating His love. She literally said she wanted to throw something at the LGBTQ+ Because they were doing blasphemy because they claimed Jesus was homosexual. I understand the frustration behind that but to express that she wanted to , in a way hurt them??? How is that radiating Jesus name? How is that compassion and forgiveness? And then later shared how we dont get to go to heaven if we only go to church for Easter and Christmas rather than focusing on the relationship with God. These two statements made me very uncomfortable and that saying Im a believer if Christ- I cant imagine how someone new to the faith may have felt. Anyway, overall it was coo, but I think being prudent and wise w the delivery of her message could have better reflected the fruits of the spirit. Sooo yeahhh. Id still give it a second chance to see what routine church service is.
Oh the last thing I remembered, she told everyone " you better now get up right now , you can wait 5 minutes " before she wrapped up her sermon. That came off too aggressive or " tough love" and a little controlling. But thats just my perspective. The place was packed.
