V Meyer Alicia and her team at Chignon are the best! Have been coming here for many years and always appreciate their professional and friendly service. The front desk is very communicative and accommodating about appointment times—I’m usually there every 5-6 weeks so this is a big factor for me. As a working professional I appreciate that they are generally on time and that their service is consistently good. Alicia has a skilled eye for style and great to work with as we have experimented with going longer and shorter with hairstyles. Consistently great service!

lluvia verdin Federico has been doing my hair for a few years now. I don’t think I’ll ever do my hair anywhere else. He goes above and beyond to do his job as perfect as possible. I always recommend all my family and friends to go to him. -10 stars if possible!

Lydia Caradine So long story short, I had an appointment with a different stylist for Senegalese twists but she was unable to do them at the last minute. I asked her for a referral however and she connected me to Tecumsah. Tecumsah asked me what I needed, moved some things around and got me in to do my twists the same day. She was knowledgeable, professional, kind and funny. She listened to and delivered on my requests and offered lovely refreshments. Her prices are reasonable and her location in Pasadena is great if you’ve been looking for a black hair care professional in the valley. I highly, highly, highly recommend her. Also, my twists came out beautifully if you’re wondering!

R Q I love the salon tucked away in an old mix- use craftsman thoughtfully decorated in vintage with curated cool hair products like Davies and Oi to compliment. Pam has done an awesome job with making me and Elouise feel comfortable. Its wonderful seeing my little slugger get all girly with Pam. Its worth paying a little more for the experience and the great cut! I dont know where I would be with Kymmie. Im glad she finally has a home and that home is blackbyrd. Im not a very loyal hair nail etc person but for Kymmie. She rocks! I love that she makes my decisions for me and always has an opinion because I know nothing. I just know whatever color she does on me - works!

Kristin Avila Christina is an absolutely STELLAR stylist. She brought me back to a gorgeous red after 2 years of not coloring my very dark hair. I asked her to give me whatever cut she thought would work for me and I’m so incredibly happy with the results!! Absolutely highly recommend Christina, book her!!
