I felt very taken care of with the expertise at the center which can sometimes be a challenge with foreign vehicles like Volkswagen. 1000x better than the dealership. They were more than fair with cost estimates and had great customer service all around.

Belinda Ramsey Ive been taking my car to Sam Lee Auto for 10 years. I have always been happy with the service and the fair prices for repair. Today, I took my car in for an oil change even tho I wasnt feeling well. I showed John the paperwork for a smog test needed to renew the registration and asked if they were able to do that as well He told me to leave it on the seat and said he would help After the oil change, John sent one of his guys in my car to get the smog test! I couldnt believe it! They paid for it with their own money and I paid them back. What service! They really helped me out today and I will never forget it.

Melissa Hocanson I have a 1966 mustang that needed lots of work. It’s my daily driver now. It has been extremely challenging finding a mechanic that first would work on the car and second do a good job. Robert at John’s automotive was my first point of contact and he has been extremely professional, organized and detailed. I came in and explained what I needed and he scheduled a time that I could bring the car in - it wasn’t right away but I appreciated that he didn’t take the car until they were able to work on it. After I dropped off the car they sent me an email with photos and a checklist of things that were good and things that need work. I was very impressed I have been to a lot of mechanics and I have never received a report that detailed. Mike is the mechanic who has worked on my car and has explained in detail what was wrong, what he’s done and what I should expect. It’s challenging working on these old cars but Mike has the experience and expertise needed to get the job done. I love my car and I’m extremely grateful that I found John’s automotive otherwise I don’t think I’d be driving my car. I highly recommend this company. Robert and Mike are the best !!!

Titus Molina Was driving to Los Angeles I had to stop in San Diego because the car was heating up I stop by the shops and no one wanted to fix it because of weekend. I had went to 5 shops near by and everyone told me no. But l and p mobil auto repair help us out and finished it on the same day. I 100% recommend this place.

Tyson Huynh Edit 7/28/25: Just this past week I came down to SD again for vacation and was supposed to drive 7 hrs back home when I ran into an oil leak. Booked an appointment with Convoy Auto for Monday 7/28 and they were able to diagnose the issue and fix it within the day. Car ran smooth after and I made the 7 hr drive back home. Great shop, very professional and friendly. They repair your car fast and within reasonable price. Thank you once again, Joe and team. 2022: I had recently taken a trip to San Diego and my check engine light had turned on for my Toyota Sienna mid way through my trip. I found Convoy Auto near the place I was staying at and brought my car in for service. Sean and everyone at Convoy Auto were professional and friendly. Convoy Auto was able to diagnose the check engine light quickly and gave me a very reasonable quote. Very honest and trustworthy shop!

Tony Modenessi Had an issue over the long weekend with my cooling system. Leak of unknown origin. I called around as soon as shops started opening up. First shop told me they wouldnt be able to get me in for a few days and diagnostic minimum was $120. Called ASM and got Tony. Tony and team got me in same day, showed me the issue, only charged a half hour labor + parts, and had my car back to me same day. $120 and an appointment is pretty standard honestly; 5 stars to the team at ASM for going well above standard and doing it with a smile.

Bryan Miller Took my old Toyota in cause the check engine light kept coming on and it was running rough. I’m not too car-smart but they explained everything in simple terms and didn’t try to scare me with a huge list of problems like some other shops I’ve been to. They figured out it was just a bad sensor and got it replaced the same day. Honest pricing, no pressure, and the car’s been running smooth ever since. I liked that they didn’t make me feel dumb for asking questions. Only thing is the waiting area could use a bit of cleaning but that’s not a big deal. At least they got the job done right and quick. It’s hard finding good trustworthy mechanics nowdays, so I’m glad I found these guys. Will def bring my car back if I need more work.
