5 /5 Quiet Marc: Many memories of St. Jerome school/church with Fr. Rohan as pastor (later Monsignor) and Fr. Edwards. Ill never forget 3rd grade with Sister Gemma on Nov.22,1963. The school principal Sister Gerard walked in and announced: "Boys and girls, the President of the United States has been shot"! The stunned silence was only broken when Sister Gemma said quietly: "Follow me in the Rosary for President Kennedy". It was also a great time to grow up and we had an excellent education under the tutelage of the nuns: Sister Petronella, Sister Allred, Sister Gemma, Sister Madeline, Sister Gerard etc. etc. Becoming a crossing guard as well as studying to become an alter boy were great honors., particularly when back then you had to know the Mass in Latin. I also remember the dance lessons we took in the church hall once a week (whether you wanted to or not) to "Assist" boys and girls learning to socialize together. Truly a special place to start ones life from. Marc Schoenitzer
