3 /5 Victoria Moyo: It’s honestly crazy to me that a prayer would be deleted on their social media page that I posted. We are all God’s children, and when we come together in a space that’s supposed to be safe—a space meant for community, healing, and faith—our prayers should be honored, not erased. This isn’t about politics. It’s about unity. It’s about people crying out to God in the middle of chaos, heartbreak, and pain, and choosing to respond with faith instead of fear.
To see even church leaders try to silence or divide us is heartbreaking. We should be encouraging one another to lift our voices in prayer, to come together as one body. That’s what the Church is called to do. We’re not meant to pick and choose who gets to be heard. We’re supposed to stand in the gap for each other. The fact that even that is being taken away says a lot. It’s sad, and it’s a wake-up call.
For context I will post what I said. I really hope this is brought to light as a lesson. We are all God’s children and I come to Oceans Church, to worship our Savior and find community. I pray that our church leaders can open up their hearts and be compassionate about their neighbors and have empathy for the people being affected by what is going on in the world. In Christ we trust.
