3 /5 K: We moved to CA when my wife was 8-months pregnant, so we had little time to find a good OB GYN. Dr. Markusen was the only one we could get in with in that time frame. Overall, the experience was not very good... especially with her staff, who reminded us more of uncaring, lazy, low-level career bureaucrats, than medical staff in a respectable private practice. We had constant problems with scheduling and overall poor attitudes. Fortunately, the labor was uneventful, so I cannot attest to how the doctor would do under real stress and complications. However, in the pregnancy with our second child a year later, my wife had some very heavy bleeding after miscarrying a few months earlier. We could not get Dr. Markusen to see her in a timely manner and had to go to the ER for care after 3-days of trying to get in... likely due to her staff not giving a single c--p about patients. After that experience, we found another OB. I gave her 3-stars for getting us in when we arrived and for delivering a healthy baby, but it was all down hill from there.
