1 /5 Karina Navarro: If you are thinking about renting this place out for an event, please look elsewhere. Yes it has a beautiful outdoors but will not be worth your frustration. I booked this church to have an event for my little ones and I was really excited because they really paint it as rainbows and butterflies. At first they treat you all kind. The lady who answers the phone had let me know that for the first 3 hours it was $200, every hour after that, it would be $50. She said to use the kitchen it would be $100, and the backyard is accessible by renting the place out. $150 would be to put someone in charge and make sure “everything goes smoothly” during the event and $150 deposit for cleaning. Which at first she told me the deposit for cleaning was refundable after the party if it was cleaned. The event was at from 4pm-10pm and I was charged $800 and she also told me that she didn’t include the kitchen usage in that price and if I wanted to add it, it would be an additional fee after I had already made accommodations to use the kitchen in the first price she had given me. By the way, she said they uncharged to $800 because I would be using the back yard. ???
I said okay and still proceeded because by this time there was no way I can get another place for the event. When I went to give the deposit, the Friday before the event, she assumed I wasn’t going to have music so they used up the stage space as their storage instead and expected me to just put the dj in the corner.
She also let me know right after I had given her the deposit, that I only had 2 hours to decorate the whole place. She had mentioned to me when I was first booking it months ago, that I could have the whole morning to decorate. And she lied, but decided to tell me once she had my money…
During the party (95 degrees) the air “didn’t work” and all the guest were sweating and complaining it was hot. The guy they had there “helping “ said he didn’t know how to turn the ac on. My pasteries, cake and all goodies were outside in the heat when it shouldn’t have. The guy they had there, walked around but was no help when it came to the AC. It wasn’t until 4 hours later he got the ac running but only in the kitchen. It was useless. He said “good thing it will get fresh once the sun goes down”…..
At this point I was upset. Then I walked outside and there was dog poop. He ended up cleaning it up but it should of never been there.
After the party was done, I called back on Tuesday and asked before anything else, “did I leave everything cleaned?” She said yes, everything was left great, no complaints.
I asked for my refund deposit in that case since we did our part. She says “oh no, we are not doing deposits back, we changed our policy”
When did you change it? I feel like this is all a game of who can we get more money from and waist less doing so.
I told her the AC “didn’t work”
Which I strongly believe it did work, they just didn’t want to waist electricity on my event.
And she said she would call me back and never did.
Well I called this morning and she says that someone named Bobby was supposed to call me, nope never did. To let me know that I was not eligible for any refund or deposit of any kind.
And to top it off she goes Bye-bye with an attitude.
You work in a church and you are not the best example but okay.
Get a space with people who will actually want you to enjoy your time and respect you and your hard earned money.
Don’t waist your time here, they will wait till last minute to step all over you.
