5 /5 Ziel N: A haven for the classics and solid biblical foundations. Peaceful and quiet, relaxing and filled with the Holy Spirit. A place full of calm and gentleness at the get-go, its a good place to start your faith journey to know Jesus Christ.
The church has a nostalgic feel for traditions in terms of the organ, piano, and trumpet with the 4 hymns played, the preaching of the Word of God by the chapter in NKJV, and the practical Bible study in a classroom. The Bible study was engaging and was seriously challenging any newcomer to grow stronger in their faith in a great way as their classroom was filled and they willingly read verses from the Bible. At the time, I saw this session with the seniors, singles, youth, and some couples who came in. Seems to me that most attendees here are mature in their knowledge of the Lord.
To my relief, heres a church where the organization wasnt revolving on a single family or their relatives & connections, not a monopoly, and where the preaching wasnt dependent on communication/marketing techniques aimed at pleasing people to get them to come back. Rather than the modernized and feel-good talk-show speaking style, it was a thought-provoking and persuasive reflection style that I witnessed. The atmospheres focus wasnt on who the person was up there speaking in their human glory, but on the Bible and on God who was speaking in the attendees hearts. I appreciate the fact that the sermon that day is sincere, straightforward, organized, and plain, so its simply the Word of God preached - truly powerful and timely in these modern age.
It was amazing that the speaker, one of the deacons on rotation, who taught since they dont have any pastor yet. According to the regulars, theyve been searching, praying, and believing by faith for a pastor who will come and stay with them (its been for 3 years now). They say its hard to find someone willing to move in to California. This belief looks accurate because entering the premises has that humble feel of a church plant, especially to whoever is led to serve here to be a pastor in the future.
Interestingly, theres coffee and a water station area to make attendees feel at home. They also celebrated birthdays, and it was a simple gathering for the 90-year old lady when we were visiting.
The singing and sermon wasnt dependent on an AV team since they didnt need to use a PowerPoint to get their message across. The hymn book was there (need glasses for the small print). Plus, most attendees brought their physical Bibles (besides a few using their Bible apps), the announcement was printed, the financial transparency on how much the giving was for the week and their needs stated, and the tithes were the usual offering bag that uses cash (no envelopes btw).
Church has a good amount of parking space, some outdoor chairs and a good plot of grass thats lovely to look at.
If youre a conservative believer looking for a quiet place to go to for an adventure with the Lord Jesus in ways that can stretch and strengthen your faith, then its a worthwhile place to consider driving to.
