5 /5 Lisa Janny: I’ve been seeing Elisabeth for my color for years, and I absolutely love how easy she is to work with! She’s a true expert, helping me grow out my gray in a way that blends beautifully with the blonde tint she adds to my hair—I get compliments all the time! Elisabeth is not only professional but genuinely cares and listens to what I want and need. I’ve also had the privilege of getting cuts from both Sergio and Fernando, and you won’t be disappointed. They’re both fantastic!

5 /5 Jane Doe: This is absolutely the best place in the entire Bay Area to get a haircut. I’ve been to Oakland, San Francisco, and other places in the Bay, and this one by far is the best. There is no comparison. The stylists here are crazy good. They’re highly skilled at cutting every type of hair texture or length, and this is a rarity! I highly recommend Sergio and Fernando.

1 /5 toto a: This review is on the lack of customer care and professional service. I have been a customer of Art & Gold for years. I had a 9:30am appt. I had been advised at 3am to take my daughter to urgent care first thing in the morning to be tested. I called the salon several times, but didnt get through. At 9:24am they answered. I told them the situation, and they did not care whatsoever about helping find a resolution or about my daughter. This surprised me given how long Ive been going to this salon. I asked if there could be any accommodations, a later appt., shortened (I was seeking a root touch-up, nothing else, no blow-dry, etc.). Asked if anyone else could see me. I was very flexible. They told me I waited to call right before my appt. (not true, Id been calling all morning, and have a phone log as proof). Received a very curt "a policy is a policy" and no assistance. No care. Charged me the full amount of the appt. Lets add that its the holidays, an expensive time of year, and now adding medical expenses...this level of heartlessness from reception and lack of class or any sign of trying to accommodate is so unfamiliar to me. Especially when other stylists had openings. There are opportunities to care and help, but they chose to take the $ and not provide any customer service or resolution.

5 /5 Ivette Angel Hernandez: Absolutely in love with my new haircut! I am so impressed with this salon - their environment is the coolest, service was amazing, and the quality of the haircut is more than 5 stars! From the moment I walked in I was greeted even though it was super busy, I always appreciate that! I was offered a variety of beverages, and was taken care of right away. Consultation was great, Fernando did an awesome job listening to what I wanted and the end result was outstanding. I am so happy with my hair, I didnt even know my natural hair could be this way! I feel so pretty and more like myself. Its been difficult finding the right place that knows exactly how to work with wavy/curly hair texture, and Im so happy I found this place! They seem to really value their clients and I felt that the entire session. Keep up the wonderful work! Edit: Went in for a transformation haircut! I had the urge to color my hair a hidden rainbow style at another salon, and my felt my hair disconnected. I decided to go for a bob to balance the color and even hide it a little more since it was showing too much on the ends. Fer once again did an amazing job! He worked with my hair and my goal and did exactly what I pictured in my head!

5 /5 Paula Wang: Words cannot accurately describe how much I love my new haircut. Fernando is a perfectionist and every haircut has been exactly what I envisioned. He has immaculate attention to detail, superb styling and is a true artist. He does a fantastic job with layering my hair, which is not easy due to all the cowlicks. Fernando will take his time and really listen to what I want, but there are also times when I let him come up with his own ideas and will always do something fun and exciting that matches perfectly with my style. Thank you!
