Teresa Hatley Dr. Salm is the best doctor Ive ever had. That says a lot for the number of doctors Ive had over the years. He really does care and so does his staff. I feel like Im going home when I go there. Its such a pleasant experience. Id recommend him anytime any day.

Mackenzie Martin I couldnt have been luckier to have Dr Shepard as the surgeon in the ER the day I went in for abdominal pain. Turned out I needed an appendectomy. This appendectomy quite possibly saved my life. When Dr. Shepherd did the operation, he went in to remove the appendix and discovered that I had a very rare tumor. He quickly provided me with follow up care - the surgeons who did my follow up surgeries said they were very impressed by Shepards work. He and his staff are comforting, honest and patient. In what was the scariest moment of my life, I was confident that with Dr Shepards guidance and expertise, he was going to get me the best treatment for my rare condition. He is an exceptional listener, and you can tell that he has a true love for helping people. Hes everything you could hope for in a doctor. Hes a hero in my heart.

Joann Maliska I met with Dr. Shepard for a preventative screening and procedure and he was very patient and thorough. He met with me prior to the procedure to explain everything and what I should expect; I appreciated his kindness and patience and felt very comfortable with him as my doctor, not to mention his stellar team of nurses! Thank you all for helping me get the care I needed in a friendly and safe environment. Dr. Shepard also saw me after the procedure to explain what he did and saw, then followed up a few days later to check on me.

Bill Paxson I have had the absolute pleasure of meeting Dr Jones approx 3 years ago when she accepted me as a new patient. I have never been so impressed with a Doctor as I have been with her. I am nearly 75 years old and have had many physicians over these years , but none as sincere, professional and caring as her . I am positive you will find her to be the same !

Jason Turkot Don’t even consider letting this guy operate on you. He did a posterior fusion and literally placed screws on my c7 nerve root and was in denial and combative when confronted he dropped me as a patient . I now suffer from nerve damage do to his surgery and know others that have had failed surgery and treated the same way by him. DO NOT even consider surgery with him you’re just asking for issues

Susan M. I had two surgeries from Dr Child. Surgeries went well, however taking a lot longer recovery time but that might be because I was in my mid 60s. I found him knowledgeable and very compassionate. Especially when it came to my aftercare with pain management. He wasnt "judgemental"! Again, he and his PA Dana Randall were both very compassionate! I highly recommend him as a surgeon.

Kathi Dobrow Ive been seeing Dr. Krull since 2019. She has provided the necessary treatment for my psoriatic arthritis; however, its like pulling teeth trying to get a question answered. Ive repeatedly asked her about a finding on a test result from January of 2024 (its now March 2025), and I STILL dont have the answer. I saw her yesterday and, once again, asked her about the finding, and, yet again, my question was not answered, although she thinks she hasnt been dismissive with me??? Ive been having to research on my own to correlate the medical findings with what my body is feeling, but it certainly doesnt replace the knowledge of a physician. I wish Dr. Krull has some insight into what being dismissive does to my mental health. Im, unfortunately, going to have to find a new rheumatologist.

Jennifer and Duane Hamburg Dr Locke provided excellent care. She took the time to thoroughly addeess all my questions and concerns. There were no complications with the surgery she performed. Her office staff were organized efficient and compassionate. I feel lucky to have found her and recommend her without reservation.

Rachel Nachtsheim Dr. Chipman is always doing his best to help. He listens to his patients and actually tries to understand what’s going on. I’ve had a lot of doctors tell me what I’m feeling and what I should do, but Dr. Chipman lets me tell him what’s going on with me, trusts that I know what’s happening in my body, and does his best to give me help in any ways he can when I need it. He has an open mind, he cares about his patients, and he makes relationships with them rather than just seeing us as another name on his clipboard

Nancy Conway Im met Dr Chipman recently for my initial appointment with him to establish as a new patient. I was very impressed with the amount of time that he was willing to spend with me going through MyChart. I feel very comfortable having him as my new physician and would strongly recommend/refer to anyone else.

Mike Froelich We took our 8 year old son to the emergency room on Sunday afternoon with severe abdominal pain. They were able to see him quickly and diagnosed acute appendicitis. He was in for emergency surgery and we were able to all go home later that night. The entire staff was extremely good and caring. Our son was terrified of needles and the nurse that started the IV was just amazing with him. We were all extremely impressed and thankful for the staff at Barton Memorial Emergency Department

Sara Fisher Kind ER nurses and doctors who took great care of me. I was probably the most sick Ive ever been in my life, but I was in and out of the ER and feeling significantly better in less than 2 hours. 10/10 would come back but I hope I never need to!

L C Not the most knowledgeable or caring doctor. Cant properly explain blood work results. Doesnt follow up on the patients issues. Staff seems incompetent as well. You need to keep calling to get anything from them.

StillFeeling It Surgery has been delayed weeks because of a clerical error and they have not made any attempt to expedite correcting their mistake. Not sure why a medical imaging center is closed on the weekends. They fail to do their jobs correctly on Thursday-Friday then you have to wait until Monday to get any idea of whats happening.

Stevie Ive been seeing Kelly since 2018. My health has declined and she has help to support me every step of the way. She has truly worked though all kinds of issues that have come up. Its nice to have a health provider sincerely care.

Grace Miller Kelly is amazing I’ve been seeing her since I was 14 years old! She is so sweet and helps me with everything I need medically. I love her.

Gary Mendel Went to him for 15 years , hes lost it , too busy to pay attention to patients concerns , I have fibromyalgia, arthritis and peripheral neuropathy, I went in with anxiety and asked for a Valium, he went off on me , now he recently had told me to just call , I was also on Valium, soma and vic for years . Now I use only when needed , he decided to not give me any more medication , for a condition thats not curable . He also puts in a message for no refills. So now no doctor will help under Barton flag . Who could treat a patient with chronic pain , brain fog , arthritis and just cut off medication after 15 years , cold turkey . In emergency last night for 6 hrs from pain because I have no meds ! Complaining to ca board , I will fight this no empathy full of himself narcissistic dr and sue him if necessary!

Ken Breslin Responsible and friendly group of physicians and physicians assistants as well as competent staff. I retired to South Lake Tahoe and feel very lucky to have found Alpine Family Practice as my primary health care providers. A big plus is their direct association with Barton Hospital. The MyChart website keeps me informed of upcoming procedures and appointments and allows direct contact via messaging. Definitely 5 stars!

J Wagamon What a wonderful group of people working in the ER here at this hospital. I’ve had my share of ER visits and I can say kindness goes a long way when you’re beat up. These were very kind people that were spending time with their patients all the way from the techs to doctors. Everything moved quickly despite them being busy. These people care!

Angela Lane While on our annual ski vacation, we needed the services of Barton. My husband had a terrible fall at Heavenly and required an ER visit. From the moment i pulled into the driveway, we received thoughtful, attentive, compassionate care. Cody was a ROCKSTAR in retrieving my husband from the vehicle and throughout of visit. He was kind and respectful, thoughtful and caring. Kathy and Dr. Jantos also went above and beyond, making sure to provide detailed explanations and provide for my husbands comfort throughout our visit. They were so kind and treated us as family. Having to seek care when away from home is daunting but the Barton ER staff was amazing! Thank you all again!

MARSHA WINCKLER I always received competent, gracious service here, but when they changed the name to emergent care so they could increase their charge I changed snow go to the CVMC Urgent Care in the building just north. Same good service but I pay 1/4 of what the ‘Emergent’ Care’ charges.

Karen Best How dare a provider...and a hospital allow a provider...to dictate personal lifestyle as a CONDITION BEFORE TREATING YOU. Who do you think you are to deny me communion as a CONDITION of treatment. To hell with you Carson Tahoe and the doctors that you employ. People STAND UP and demand a fully integrated, supportive, and complimentary health care system. I been an EMT for 25 years and now that I need care, I am denied. Screw you.
