Geia Branzuela I recently visited Excellent Salon in Newark, California, for a hair color correction, and unfortunately, my experience was far from excellent. My appointment was scheduled for 9 AM, and while I was attended to promptly as the first customer of the day, things quickly took a turn for the worse.
Initially, there were two ladies helping me, but after an hour, one of them left to assist a new customer who had just walked in. Over the next hour, the remaining stylist began multitasking, answering phone calls, and not focusing on my hair. This lack of attention continued throughout the entire process.
With my hair already in the process of being dyed, she informed me that the color was not lifting yet and that I would have to wait. She then proceeded to assist another new customer, leaving me unattended for about 30 minutes. This pattern of neglect continued, with her running back and forth between me and other customers. Despite originally quoting me an 8-hour appointment, the entire process ended up taking almost 14 hours because of her constant distractions and failure to focus on my hair.
By the end of the day, I was exhausted and frustrated, being the first customer in and the last one out. To make matters worse, my hair was extremely dried out and damaged the next morning, and the color did not turn out as expected or as she had promised. The stylist texted me the next morning to apologize for rushing me out and admitted that she was not happy with the outcome of my hair. She offered to make it better with a new appointment, but the damage is already done, and I am not willing to spend another whole day there.
To top it all off, the service cost me almost $700, which makes this experience even more unacceptable. Overall, my experience at Excellent Salon was disappointing. The lack of focus and care from the stylist resulted in a prolonged and damaging experience, and I am left with hair that is far from what I was promised.

C Lee Kim and the staff are amazing here! I now only come to Kim for my hair needs. She makes me feel like a whole new person after each session. Kim is super talented and has a keen eye for what works for your look. I can completely let her take control and get the look I adore. You definitely want to book in advance because they book up fast.
I’m so glad they are open with limited capacity and taking great measure such as taking temperature checks before entering, make you sign a waiver, only 2-3 customers at a time, everyone wearing masks, sanitizing the seats and equipments after each customer, plastic dividers, socially distanced, etc.
