Sarila Young I haven’t been able to find a nail salon to stay loyal to since moving to the city, but have fallen in love with Upper Hand. Everyone there is so sweet and greets you like an old friend or family. I love having colorful, fun nails, and they do a spectacular job of bringing my visions to life. They even make suggestions to make my nails even more like me. They are very quick, friendly, and do great work.

P The manicurist here do a great job, and are detailed oriented. I came to get a manicure with my friend and we were both very pleased with the final result. My only complaint is that they didnt let me know about an up-charge until it was too late to back up. Overall they are very nice and I would recommend coming here. Make sure to make an appointment because they are very popular in the area.

Arielle Broussard I’ve been here multiple times and had great experiences in the past. However, my most recent visit was a huge disappointment. It only took 30 minutes for my gel nails which worried me but I thought they’d be fine. These are my gel nails after only 7 days. Two nails on my left hand also chipped after just 2 days. With so many salons in SF, I can’t go back to a place where my nails are this bad after only a week.

Angela Yang Amazing gel manicures in the Haight! The staff here is really nice and knowledgeable. I’ve gotten gel manicures with chrome powder, and they’ve turned out stunning! My gel manicure lasted me 3 weeks with no chipping or peeling. I’m sure it could have lasted longer but I wanted a refresh! I especially appreciate that they are detail-oriented and efficient. The salon is clean and comfortable to sit in and very conveniently located. Definitely stop by for a manicure!

Audrey Fremier One of the best gel manicures I’ve had! They took off my old gel polish with a nail file then soaking them as opposed to just buzzing off and really destroying nails like some salons do. Then they provided fingerless gloves to cover your hands from the UV light. Would come back!

Christine Issa Have been coming here for almost 2 years, they’re the best! It’s the best dip powder manicure I’ve ever had, doesn’t look thick at all. They’re super kind and really take their time to ensure you’re happy with the results.

D BC Really nice service. they have a great selection of colors (both for regular and gel). I had a pedicure, and my only comment is that I left with still some rough skin on my feet. It wasnt thorough enough. If I would notice on the spot they would probably redo it, but I didnt. But I do recommend this place!

Kris Weisman First appointment here. Small place, but METICULOUS attention to the details of my manicure. I got gel removed and just a simple manicure with a clear coast. The technician Larra spent a lot of time and care on the process. Very happy with my nails as I begin to grow them out without gel for a couple months.

Evelyn Ponce I can’t stop looking at my nails! I would highly recommend this nail salon to a friend. The staff were friendly and professional. The woman that worked on my nails would take moments to revise her work to make sure the polish covered the nail completely. The nail salon is also super clean. All of the tools they used during my manicure were sterilized. Friendly staff, affordable price and great service!

I have been looking to do pedicure for a long time,since my last experience at the nail salon was disappointing,I didn’t want to go to any…..However I was in need to do my pedicure and I came across this salon by accident and I was so happy. The service that they ladies provide there is so amazing ,the foot massage and the hot stone massage ,and scrubbing plus on top of that they are very gentle and caring. I recommend this salon if you need a mani and paid 10000000%. They care that much that they wrap the wrapper with oil on top of my nails on the foot so I can go home and it won’t smudge(even tho the nail polish was dry) Very nice and lovely ladies.

Dan Dascalescu Great pedicure + nice hot stones massage for $30. No useless frills like nail coating (which tends to go yellow over time, or peel off). Comfortable chairs, without massage capabilities. Slightly cheaper if you pay cash (so you can leave a tip). As a guy, a pedicure every 6 weeks serves me well.

Eve Munguia Ive been going to this place, most of the time the service is good even though they dont have variety of colors. The nail spas owner is a bit rough, so if you take on her as a manicurist, she will color your cuticles and leave your fingers very dry. She is always active and concerned about what is going on with the clients, which is excellent, but it is also detrimental for the customers with whom she works individually. She should have more manicurists or not take too many reservations in order to provide a better experience.

Carolyn Durkee This is my new favorite nail salon in the city. I was taken care of by the owner, Tunie, who did an amazing job with a Russian gel manicure with extensions and pedicure. She was so friendly and checked in throughout the service to ensure it met expectations. The salon itself is stunningly styled— a perfect spot to go with friends or for a special occasion. I’m already excited to come back.

Mairead Allen Tunie is so detail oriented and has done an amazing job every time I’ve come in! I’m so happy with my nails- they are the healthiest and longest they’ve ever been & the gel always looks super natural. Highly highly recommend! Don’t go to another salon in North Beach, the quality of the products here and the attention to detail is worth every penny.

Danielle I I’ve been a regular at this salon and feel compelled to address a recent review. The owners have a smart, beautiful, and extremely helpful little girl who loves to help out in the salon. Unfortunately, the reviewer visited on a day when this little girl brought in a rabbit. Having frequented this salon, I can assure you that this was an isolated incident. I’ve never seen the rabbit before, nor have I ever experienced disruptive noise from children. Its disheartening to read a comment questioning the mothers attention to her child. I find it inspiring to witness a mother who skillfully balances her business with her parental responsibilities. The mother is always attentive, ensuring her daughter is respectful and engaged appropriately. This salon remains a professional and relaxing environment, and I look forward to my continued visits.

Rachel Forbes I sadly don’t live on this side of town or else this would probably be my regular spot. Got a gel mani and regular pedi. Both came out great. Also the foot and hands massages were the best I’ve had at a nail salon. Kieu was great! Nice ambiance inside.

Glory-Ashley Arzadon Mai and her team are amazing. The vibe of this place and quality of work is great! They always take care of me well! Im super ticklish on my feet and Dina (I think her name is) is always gentle but gives the right amount of pressure for the leg massage.

Eva OConnell This is hands down the best nail salon in SF. I moved away and still make it a point to get my nails done here whenever Im back in SF. All the ladies are fantastic and they are precise and always make sure youre happy with the color and finished product. The salon is always clean and the massage chairs are comfy. Shona O Dea My favourite nail spot in the Bay Area! Super clean and nice massage chairs. They have a huge range of nail colours. They are super friendly and welcoming and always try fit you into their schedule. It’s the only nail salon I’ve been to where they appreciate how much of a ‘big decision’ picking a nail color is lol. They’re super helpful if you’re looking to find a specific shade and even accommodate nail art requests!

R Great service! I am very picky about my nails and they did an amazing job. I got a manicure, pedicure, & waxed my brows. I am also very picky about my brows and they did a phenomenal job. My boyfriend came with me and got his hands and feet cleaned because he is a diesel mechanic and gets lots of oil in his nails. He left with spotless hands and feet. Definitely going to be a regular here now!

Here are my observations so far: - gel removal process very fast - good color options - too many layers of gel (looks kinda bulbous on my nails) - did not cover full nail with paint on ~3 nails - strange nail shape & not clean file, had to fix when I got home - already chipped one nail (fixed myself so not visible in photo) Note I am very picky :)

Whitney Crowder The best manicure I’ve ever had—and I get manicures a lot. I had a dip appointment done by Timmy and it was incredible. He took so much time and care—I was blown away. Finally a dip manicure that doesn’t leave my nails insanely thick! So grateful to have found this place. I highly recommend.

Kailey Romey Friendly and great work. I told them I typically peel my nails/cuticles so they took extra care to ensure the gel didn’t layover any skin/cuticles to avoid any lifting of the gel. Very happy and will definitely be back.

Gabs I have been coming here for the past 10 years- this is my go to spot in San Francisco. All the staff are so friendly and attentive. Everytime I am here, it’s truly hard to leave. The massage chairs are excellent! My nails last forever, their quality of nail polish is great. I love coming here and recommending this place to friends as well. Thank you to the whole staff.

Freedom Uninterrupted C.E.P It was a quick-service although from the moment I sat down my stylist was back and forth doing my hands or working with someone else through my service. I asked if she had time available and she should have said no if she wasnt finished working with the other people. She kept leaving me to do somebody elses nails and whenever she came back to do my nails she sped through it and was not careful with her application. I ended up getting clear gel polish. I wasnt sure if I could be confident in getting anything else besides a solid color. It was really disappointing that my nails are not filed straight. When I tried to tell her she got frustrated and told me not to worry about it then filed nails I didnt even ask to be filed again just to create the same issue. They also painted the gel polish too high up which is why its hanging off my nailbed in the one photo. Im sure the quality of work would be much better if she slowed down and didnt put too much on her plate.

Lauren Clayton The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. They offered water, hot tea, and mango juice for free and worked fast! Their prices are incredibly affordable in comparison to other salons and they offer a wide variety of trending nail designs. Cannot recommend them enough!

Sophia Galley I do Gel x nails and have been coming here for a while! The ladies here are always so nice and Im ALWAYS so happy with my nails!! Favorite place to come for sure!

Liana Trobaugh This place is extremely expensive for the bare minimum work. I went here with my friend hoping to get almond plain French tips and when I went there they put the longest square nails and send shaping them to almond would be 20$ and French tip would be 40$. So we decided to get plain white because color was also expensive and I asked to get them shortened at least sense I didn’t even want them and the lady was very rude and barely shortened them. Although they did have really good glue so when I tried to take them off at home they ripped my natural nail off. The final amount for me and my friend ended up almost being 300$ for barely nothing

My nails needed a lot of work, and they made them look amazing. I also really appreciated the late-hour availability, as I get off work late. Im so happy with the results! Xochitl Love I went with Ms. Dior to get her nails done at Green Spa Nails and she absolutely loves them! She felt fabulous as she was getting her mani pedi along with her eyebrows waxed and is deff going back. Fabulous service!!!
