Katie Tremper Tam is now open by appointment. Her husband is also doing mens haircuts. My husband and I enjoyed getting out during after months of being home, and getting the personal attention. They practiced physical distancing and we all wore masks, and we were the only ones there. Both services were excellent!

Hai Tran This place is all thrill, no frill! Hard to find a good barber and after trying out numerous barbers in DT Davis as well as Woodland, I have found my place. The barber really knows how to style your hair and is very friendly. Best part is, there is usually not a long wait when you do walk in. Highly recommend for anybody!

John Uhte This is a great place for an inexpensive hair cut. Price as gone up to $11 which leaves room for a healthy tip if they do a good job. I have been getting my hair cut at this place for 5+ years, first at their old place at 3rd and L St. Very convenient walk or bike ride from downtown or UCD.

Matilda Fritz What a gem of a nail salon!! Marielle and Gabby run this small business nail salon in Davis and are literally the best. Make sure to book an appointment online—they often can’t take walk ins because of how booked they are. Marielle did the cutest set of gel-x nails for me that lasted over a month with minimal lifting and was so fun to talk to throughout my appt. Be aware that both sisters value quality over quantity and book accordingly—they will take the time to prep your nails and won’t rush the final product like your typical salon would. Overall, I’m so happy I’ve found this high quality, local nail salon and won’t be going anywhere else!

Leanny Munoz I have loved getting my nails done at this salon for the last 5 months. I have never been more excited to get my nails done and to try new things. All of my manicures and pedicures last a long time. I get them done now roughly every two week, and my nails are still very healthy. I’ve also tried their facial services, along with my partner, and we were both extremely happy with the services. I think this is one of the best salons in Davis! The photo are of my little over a week old nails. - - - Update: I still love this place.

Colleen Sargent I had a great experience getting a gel manicure at Trifecta beauty. It was my first time visiting the salon and Marielle did a beautiful and expert job applying gel polish and chrome powder. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, and tools and work areas were very clean. The team at the salon was kind and professional! I love my nails and will be returning in the future.

Gianna Santos I have been coming to Trifecta Beauty for a few years and every experience I have had with them has always exceeded my expectations. Gabby, Marielle, and Pam are true artists in their craft and it shows through all the compliments I receive, designs being done wonderfully and to my liking, and the long lasting retention. I have been working with Gabby for each of my appointments and she has been able to ensure my nails are handled with care and that they grow even stronger for my next session. Unlike many other chop-shop salons, they take their time on their prep work to make sure that retention is at its best performance. They keep up with the new trends and, similar to many other high-end professionals, offer an online booking service which makes it convenient to secure your deposit while scheduling at home in-advance. The salon is always well kept and welcoming to all, and easily accessible. I have been to many salons in my lifetime both in and outside of the Davis area, and no one is as revolutionary as Trifecta Beauty. If you are looking to support a locally owned business, their luxury services should definitely be on your list!

Marilyn Ramirez *THE BEST OF DAVIS* I’ve been going to Fan Nails for over a year & will not go anywhere else in Davis. Quality service, fair prices, and clean tools/facility — the perfect combination in a nail salon, in my opinion. The owner P is so sweet, every nail tech who’s helped me is perfect, and the pricing is straightforward. I love love love Fan Nails. I’m a student, so pricing + service is obviously very important to me, and since I’ve moved here, Fan Nails has not disappointed. If you’re looking for a nail salon that’ll be kind, fair, and understanding of what you want, Fan Nails is for ya! - a very happy customer of 1.5 years

Bridget Bartz I have been going to Fan Nails and Spa for almost 3 years now. Phoebe has always taken such great care of me and I’d like to think we have become good friends. Her quality of work is excellent, long lasting and sturdy. I work in retail with a very hands on job and am very unintentionally rough with my nails. I get acrylic with gel and pretty much never have issues with them breaking, chipping or lifting. I go 5-8 weeks between fills as well. I highly highly recommend this salon. I really enjoy their pedicures too, got one today in fact! So many great things and I always share and recommend Phoebe and this business to anyone looking for a new nail tech. Take a chance and try them you! I’ve never regretted it once. I will continue to be a longtime customer for as long as I can. Thank you Phoebe for all that you do!

Gayetri Maya Parmar I’ve been coming to Fan Nails for 3 years after moving from Elk Grove. Phobie and staff are so so nice and professional. I tried several places in Davis and Fan Nails is top notch. First time was to get my nails done for my wedding 3 years ago and been here ever since. I highly recommend this place for quality and sophisticated nails.

sydnee bender I recently visited Fan Nails for the first time and got a full set of gel acrylics. I can confidently say it was the best nail experience I’ve ever had! Annie, my nail technician, was incredible—so precise and attentive. She truly cared about every detail, and my nails turned out absolutely perfect. I’ll definitely be coming back and requesting Annie again. Highly recommend!

Viv Av Turned away for no reason. Ive been coming to this place since I moved here, and everyone is always very pleasant. Today, however, I walked in and it felt very, very tense. I sat down and eventually one of the women came up to me and said the wait would be an hour. I didnt quite get it, because while everyone seemed occupied, it didnt look unusually busy. So I came back later this afternoon, and it felt very...uncomfortable. After a while of sitting there, another woman came up and said, "Were very busy..." and that is all the information I was given. Not "our waxer is out today" (which could have been said earlier), not "you need to make an appointment now" (never had to in the past - policy change ? It felt very arbitrary and its a shame that Ill have to find another place.

Lisa G My new nail salon. I’ve been going to Y2K for over a decade but their work has become very spotty in the last year so I decided to try Diva based on the reviews. Had a regular spa pedicure with gel polish. Helen did an excellent job; she was very careful, gentle, and thorough, and my nails look terrific. A bit more expensive than Y2K but IMO the process and results are much better (I had a mani/pedi just last week at Y2K and wanted a redo…crummy job on both services). The salon itself is very clean and quiet. Highly recommend this place.

Alexandra Moran I unfortunately have to be that one person who will be give a one star rating. Ive been coming here for 2 years and this past april will be the last time I will be coming. On April 18, I got a gel polish pedicure. I had a new nail technician who was very rough on my cuticles. Since I wanted a french nail design she kept messing up and re doing. She did one by and one applying a clear looking polish. It would burn each time It was under the uv lamp, imagine she did this for each one. Shortly after the pedicure I was severely itchy on my cuticles. It now has developed a bacterial infection. I am now on antibiotics and toes have not been the same since. I would be cautious as it could be the tools werent properly sanitized. I will be posting my toe for the whole world to see but I rather you guys know than it happen to you!

Teak Hahn My friend and I have gone to First Lady Nails a few times now. The first picture is when we both got full sets and the second picture is when I got a fill (yes—I loved it so much that I went back and got the same manicure filled!). The third is when I got ombré and loved it!! Kelly is great for a full set—she’s meticulous and precise but also timely with it and they’re sure to provide you with what you’re looking for for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!! :)

Ayanna Black Unprofessional. Not sanitary. They did their job for me but could not communicate correctly about what we wanted or how to pay. Spoke about us in a different language and then still expected to answer without responding to our questions or translating. Used the water to clean off the items they used for calluses and still put our feet/legs back into the water. Used the UV light on pedicure without ever emptying the water. Pedicure with acrylic are uneven and not filled properly, Made sure they asked for a tip before allowing us to pay on card and tip in cash. Chairs were malfunctioning. Find somewhere else.

Debbie Shoup I had a little issue with my dip manicure from a few days ago and went into the salon and they totally redid my nails and did a beautiful job. They were super nice about it all. Definitely won my loyalty!

harper harris I came here for a pedicure and was charged $50 for the most basic and terrible pedicure I have ever had. They told me that I got the basic pedicure which was $35 and added $15 for the gel, which I understand. However, all the man did was clean up my cuticle, cut my nails, and then paint them, with a two minute massage at the end. He did not use an exfoliating scrub on my legs, which is common, and basically a necessity when it comes to a pedicure. All I am saying it was not worth the $50 and I will never be coming here again. I regret ever going there in the first place. There are so many better nail salons out there that won’t scam you and will give you a great pedicure for the price you are paying. Wish I could give zero stars. Shame on you First Lady Nails.

Aden hubbard Idk why it’s my roommates profile name, but no here. I went for a gel manicure. They sanded my nails down so far, every single one is messed up and has severe Indentations. I paid extra for a “spa” service after just having surgery, didn’t get it. And they ruined my natural nails! Will NEVER go back again

Celina Reyes This place is very clean, they offer a variety of colors, designs and services. I came for the first time two weeks ago, loved my nails. Sadly I don’t remember who did them so I went in today and was seated with a different nail artist. I made a couple of comments asking her to fix the shape of my nails and she wasn’t too happy about that it was noticeable in her face and reaction. Then when doing my French tip, she didn’t bother to add a second layer of white to even out the patches that didn’t get enough paint over them. The shape is not great, there are SO many obvious flaws in the paint job, from splatters, to left over paint and Globs of gel coming off of my nail beds on to my fingers. I’m so disappointed that I’m stuck with these as my birthday nails. I don’t mind paying $60 for a job well done this however is not worth it.

Donia Ghaith AMAZING!!! They can do anything! Jenny was so good! She gave me a great design + ombré that looked so cute! She took her time and was super technical, she always made sure if I was okay and was super nice and fun to be around. She even went overtime to finish

8.G Nail & Spa

Picture G Nail & Spa

(63) Reviews G Nail & Spa:

Sarah Wu I went there to remove acrylic nails. The lady didnt soak my nails first, instead she tried to take it off brutally by using other fake nails. I told her it hurts me so she soaked the other ones remained. I asked her why she didnt use it at first, she said because it takes too much time for her to remove it. She literally said “nah I dont want to do it because it takes too much time for me” (so she rather makes her customer feel extremely uncomfortable and painful?) After soaking my nails, she used the drill and accidentally went too deep that went thru my actual nail and hurt my skin beneath it. It was too painful that I screamed and told her to stop. The guy (manager?) asked me to leave and told me this is how they remove acrylic nails. He said to me “If you dont like her service you can leave. We don’t want you to be here.” No apologies at all. I went to another nail salon nearby and they said what she did was a total bs and she was just trying to save her time.

Arianna B-G Manicures from G Nail and Spa are easily my favorite and last the best/longest of any place Ive tried in the past few years. This set is 5 weeks old, still super shiny, and no chips.

Febe Mirza Tina and Keith did a great job with my nails. I came in for a full set and they had to deal with a gel powder nail removal, which they didn’t know I was coming in for. Regardless, they were very kind and careful with the nail drill. Always asking if I felt any discomfort at all. I got a full set, Apres Gel X nail extension, Tina applied them and Keith painted the extensions, $60

Juniper Rogers When I walked into this salon it looked fine nice and clean but that is not why Im complaining. First off I have been there before but I have never had my nails done there so I didnt know what I was getting into. I got french tip nails but they werent white but I Instead I just wanted pastels plain pastel French tips with different colors on each nail simple right but the lady who was doing my nails smudge them multiple times or had bubbles in the nail polish which wasnt that bad but when I went to pay they charged me extra money just for getting multiple colors and after that I went home and 3 days later the nail polish already chipped off. I do not recommend this place if you want nice nails or one that lasts a decent amount of time.

Monique Barrett When we entered, the staff was extremely rude. We greeted them, but the man ignored us. When I asked him about removing acrylic nails, he dismissively told me, Dont tell my wife anything; she knows what shes doing. I was simply asking a question, yet he chose to prioritize another customer instead. The rude and discriminatory behavior was very apparent. We will never return to this establishment. If I could give them a negative zero rating, I would.

Teak Hahn I got my nails done yesterday morning and my nail technician (I think her name was Lisa) not only took an hour and a half to give me a full set of gel on acrylics, but she also cut me with the nail drill in 5 different places as pictured. Nice & personable people but poor service considering it was not busy at all and she took a long time. Discouraged from going here again...

Veronica L WOW. SIMPLY WOW. I would’ve given 0 star if they have this option. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this nail salon. There are only two employees, and both had a terrible attitude. On 05/21, I went for a gel manicure and pedicure. The male technician who started my manicure rushed through it when a new customer walked in. He completed my nails in less than 10 minutes without even cleaning the cuticles, and the polish was sloppy and outside the nail lines. I was upset but politely asked him to fix it. He then had the female technician clean my cuticles and remove the excess polish. I thought my request was completely reasonable and I had treated her with respect. She had to clean up the guy’s mess, and I felt sorry for her, which is why I tried to comfort her, told her it was okay, said multiple “thank you” while she was cleaning, and tipped her around 25% in cash for her effort. However, when I returned with my mother today, I specifically asked for the female technician. They refused, kicked me out, and told me they wouldn’t serve me because I “gave her too much stress.” I was in shock when I heard that, and almost laughed cuz I was too speechless about the comment. Stressful? For what? Was it because I politely asked them to clean up the nail when they messed up, or was it because I tipped more? Crazy. It seems like they discriminate against Chinese customers because I observed that they were very friendly towards white customers. The same request to redo the nails would never have gotten a white person kicked out. I am sharing my most honest experience without any exaggeration. Please take this into consideration before visiting this place. Please see the nail pic below for your reference.

navy07 I asked for a white french tip and they did it ok. if you look from the side, the nails are extremely uneven and they didnt do any cuticle work. The lady doing my nails also cut my from filing too aggresively (she did sanitize it but waited less than 1 minute before going back to dip the powder). When i left there was acrylic crusted all over my hands and cuticle, leaving it looking very sloppy. Eventually the acrylic on my cuticle did come off but it took a solid week. but they did give us mini bags of chips at the end and the staff was kind. Overall, you should come earlier in the day as there are better nail techs than in the afternoon/evening.

Jordan Frazer I went in yesterday evening with my boyfriend and my friend. Our total was 275 we paid with $300 and there’s a $25left (we were already planning to tip more) but the nail tech who did his pedicure or directly asked for an extra $60 in tip which he did give to her, but thought it was really rude that she asked for a direct amount call the nails me and my friend got turned out completely horrible very bumpy and thick. I called earlier this morning to speak to a manager and I was told ones that N and I got hung up on. I will never get my nails done here again it was the worst I’ve ever gotten. The staff is pretty nice. But very scamish

Rachel Moreno Don’t get your eyebrows waxed here. Granted it was busy and I was a walk in, she didn’t discuss what I wanted before getting the wax or the price. She was clearly in a rush and I wish I would have turned back out the door. When she held up the mirror for me to check, I clearly still had some hairs in the unibrow region and asked her to get them. She still didn’t get all of them after that. The attention to detail is poor and i would have rather been seen at a later time than getting rushed through.

Susan Crawford My mother and I have been coming here for over two years and have been mostly pleased with the service and atmosphere. Today we were extremely disappointed. We were barely greeted, were not asked what type of pedicure we wanted, and then received a very rushed basic pedicure. My stylist acted annoyed to be doing my pedicure. Each step was sub par and rushed. My mothers experience was only slightly better. We were rushed out with wet toes even though they were not busy and it was only 4:30 pm. It was not a relaxing experience. We are sad that we will need to find a new place. Natural Nails used to be wonderful. Something has changed. Sorry.

Syaira Naseer New ownership is not as good as the people who used to own the place. Service was lacking. I had an apppintment at 1 and was told to come back at 3. Additionally, when I asked for my nails to be fixed because the employee got hair from her brush in my toe nails, she refused and told me my nails had cracked when being clipped. They were not and I’m not sure how she would argue that was better.

bri l After waiting 48 mins, I asked for a gel manicure and pedicure. I received a regular nail polish pedicure that peeled in a week, they gave me acrylic with dip powder which is $20 more. And worst of all they cut my fingers, yes fingers, so badly with the drill I had to wear band aids for two days after. Never even received an apology while the manager did my nails . I paid because the work was already done. I was hoping to find a regular place to go to but it was awful

Giovanni Rodgers I went to another salon before I found Tammy and I couldnt be more happy! First off, the salon is clean and well kept. It has a serenity about it when you first walk in. If youre looking for a place that you get exactly what you pay for and more....look no further. If you need a good cleaning and a light massage on your legs to top off your pedicure this is the place! Nice people and great work...Thanks Tammy:)

Arlene Lurey I discovered Queen Bee Nails one day while washing our oversized comforter at the laundromat next door. Now I wont go anywhere else! The salon is beautiful, clean, and their work speaks for itself. I always receive compliments on my nails. Their nail techs are very gentle and they work quickly. I get my nails dipped and the luxury gel pedicure. The pedicure lasts me almost a month. Im pretty hard on my nails, though, so I go back every 3-4 weeks for my manicure.
