Ruth Stone Shag has always done a amazing job on my hair. Judy is a amazing stylist and her staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this salon.

Toni Hoag Ive been ALL OVER Town asking for a hair cut that would make sides of my hair feather all the way down and to the back... like Lisa Rhinnas, or Ferrah Faucets... Paid BIG BUCKS and yet my hair just laid flat EVERY TIME ! Asked that they cut hair in back and on top so it all blends nicely and doesnt leave a part down the middle of my hair in the back . But was told there was no such thing. But thats how my very favorite Hair Stylist ALWAYS cut it... DARN HER FOR RETIRING! Driving by Shag one day, and thought, I dont care if shes the most expensive haircut in town , ill bite the bullet, because Ive seen her work in the past... Went in showed Judy picture of Lisa Rhinna & asked if she could do that style for me, but keep my hair long.. She said yes ! Then I asked the price, and elated hearing that she brought her prices down, and is very resealable for wash, cut, and style ! Ive FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE WHO REALLY KNOWS HOW TO CUT AND STYLE HAIR ! SHES FABULOUS ! And doesnt mind working with you on a last minute appointment when she knows its important to you ! I highly recommend Judy, and her staff ! They are the only ones in town who know how to cut and style your hair !

Linda Sacauskas Wow! Judy was awesome! She asked what I wanted to do. She listen to what I described, and she did it! Its great!!! As for product she carries what looked like the whole Pureology line which is sulfate free, parabens free, cruelty free and vegan. (It is a little pricier than Herbal Essences) It was $50 for wash, cut, dry and a Pureology spray root lift mouse. I will definitely be back!

Jackie Branick Judy was awesome. She Id not over cut. When you have super curly hair that is very important.

Ellene Vasquez I will not be going back. I had them wash my hair and the lady scrubbed my ends with shampoo like she was washing a rag. Dried my hair out. Then tried ringing it out with a towel I had to stop her. My hair was very left dried out and I’m pretty upset about it. I don’t wash my ends that vigorously with shampoo and I don’t know why anyone would. It left my hair very damaged. I will not be going back.

Cecily Valente I get my hair done by Sarah, she’s absolutely amazing!! 100000/10. She’s an amazing, talented & kind person. Always make sure her clients are comfortable & leave feeling beautiful. I can’t recommend her enough!!!!

Izzy Kirsch Wavy hair certified! I have wavy/curly THICK uneven hair and my stylist gave me exactly what I wanted and more! She totally fixed my look and was so sweet while doing it! Great price, great staff, great work, great atmosphere. Will probably be going here from now on! Highlllyyy recommended!

Andrea Andrews Made an appointment 6 months ago for a wedding updo at the hotel. Was told I had an appointment. Come time I had to remake my appointment and now were unable to come to my hotel communication is lack luster at best.Also the lady was unable to do the hair style she stated she could. The style lily did do was jyst ok the bun way loose and the French brade was just a brade not a French brade , not my first choice. Also extremely expensive in my view

Kelly Cofield Martha is so sweet and is a Steller hairstylist She really listens to your needs regarding your hair I wont go to anyone else.

Paul Gonzales Here from out of town, needed a hair cut and was recommended by a guy here at the front desk at the Best Western. I forgot all about it as I was looking for a opened barber shop on the week end and thats when I remembered.... I was thankful to find them open and my barber Melina was Awesome! Really cool, down to earth which made it that much better on top of a "GOOD HAIRCUT"! Very pleased with the service here.. Thanks!

Wendy Webster Was here from out of state. My previous haircut did not go as planned. I asked if they could help and I got a wonderful haircut and style as a walk in. They were fantastic.

Me Elliott My mom got an awful cut somewhere else but Melly here at shear stragety saved the day. Her haircut was half the price n the service was amazing! Thanx melly we will b back!

Katie Lopez I was on a buiness trip and needed a haircut. My friend from the area recommended this salon and while hesitant at first, it was a great expereince. The attentivness shown to me and what I really wanted was exceptional. Having such a great salon in a small city is great. I just wish it was closer to my city. They had competitive prices but they definetly outperformed my initial expectations.

Cody Romeo Lady was nice and gave me a decent fade but I specifically stated I wanted nothing off of the top or that back and I was growing it out. Long story short she did a fade on the back of my head setting back my hair growth goal like 2 inches. She was sorry and at the end of the day it’s not the end of the world but nonetheless it was frustrating

Tianna Konopasek It was a great experience!! It was a little shorter than what I originally wanted so I was in shock at 1st but its growing on me. I love it!! It looks great on me. I needed something new and spicy in my life and thats exactly what I got!! Im here for it. My hair was REALLY long and its so high maintenance. I look forward to it being easy to manage, brush out, and style it. Luckily it grows REALLY fast as well

essay Although the stylist was obviously skilled, I asked her poignantly not to cut my hair too short. The previous haircut I received cut it was way too short and took me 3 months to grow out (2 months to get back to acceptable), so I said I didnt want it too short again. But thats exactly what she did. My hair is so short it wont even lay down. Itll take me months to grow out again.

Yesenia Ramos I went in today to get a haircut. I’ve been here before. Never had a negative experience. But I was scheduled for 6:45 pm and chose to sit in the salon since I had nothing to do. At 5:32 let’s call him stylist invited me to take a seat early. I showed him what I wanted and he started to cut away. Then his next appointment walked in and then another. I told him I could wait and didn’t mind waiting for my actual time or allowing him to work in pauses. He said he’d finish with me and then work on his other appointments. I noticed he was rushing then continued to use everything he had at his work station. At 6:31 pm he finished and showed allowed me to look. I knew my hair was ruined and I could see it in his face that he had messed up. I paid him and tipped him (my partner questioned me on the tipping) and left. Can I go back and someone fix this?

Naomi Campbell Chelsea trimmed my hair and cut my bangs. Im very pleased with it. Im a very active person with 3 jobs. I work outside everyday & struggle with my long fine wispy hair all the time. Its a daily struggle trying to keep it out of my face, not tangled, and conditioned etc. I really like the haircut Chelsea gave me. My long hair feels and looks healthy and more manageable now. Kristal Morse The lady working today did an amazing job on my sons hair. She was really nice & listened to us very carefully to how we wanted his hair cut. She asked him & me the whole way through about the length.

Stephanie Yeh Stella and Paco run this wonderful hair salon. Both are skilled at delivering stylish haircuts. I have gone to Stella several times to cut my long hair for Locks of Love and similar organizations. Stella carefully separated my hair into several ponytails so the cut would maximize the amount of hair I donate. Neither Paco nor Stella are shy about making suggestions, especially when a style I choose wont work for my thick heavy hair. Best of all, a person can get a great haircut from either Stella or Paco. Most days you can walk in and get a cut with little wait. If you show up at around 4:30, both Paco and Stella are present so the wait is even shorter! My whole family gets haircuts here. We love em!

Ap One of the best barber experiences i have had. Highly personable and skilled barber Paco did a fantastic job. You can tell that styling is more tham just a job for him, its a passion!

Stephen Villamor Paco does a nice quick cut. He is there in the evenings after 4:30. Walkins usually a short to no wait.

shanda rial Wanted to get my frail 82 year old mother a hair cut. Saw the no wait time sign on the door. Took her up. Filled out the information. Both stylists were doing nothing... Then they said it would be and hour and 20 minute wait. I said the door said no wait time. They just smiled and said nothing, so we left.

Ketxaly Maldonado First time I decided to try mendocuts and let me tell you it won’t be my last there service was so fast the women had patience and so kind with my son I highly recommend !

Joseph Azbill Dont recommend coming here. Outrageous price. Got my 2-year-olds haircut here. It was just a scissor cut that took 5 minutes, they charge $30

Andrea Alicia Wright I came here a few days ago and got a trim. Theyre were really nice and really good at cutting ✂️ hair. And it only cost $35.00 + a tip. I recommend them

Mariko Tso Shim is a wonderful hair stylist. She does my haircut and highlights always. She is very cheerful lady. She knows her job, she listens and does neatly! Also she doesn’t change much.

Donna Sullivan Lisa does a good job of cutting, styling & highlighting my thick hair. Toppers interior is pleasantly decorated & has a large floor space. The staff are pleasant & helpful. During Covid 19 everything is done by appointment & they do a great job during this stressful time for businesses.

Tina Turner Loretta did a fantastic job fixing a terrible "Bob" cut. I went to another salon (beauty school) and asked for a layered Bob. What I got looked like Lord Farquad from Shrek. Loretta spent to time going over pictures and ideas and we were definitely on the same page. She did a great job and I left with clean lines and a sophisticated layered Bob. Loretta also gave me a great conditioning treatment and advised products to help me with thinning hair from meditation. Clean salon, inviting, decorated for the season. Large comfortable space. Free Wifi. Nice waiting area. Products available. Caring service with a smile. Tap, Venmo, cash, credit card/debit accepted. Why book with anyone else?

Holly Curry Lisa is a fantastic Stylist and Aveda Colorist. She really listiened to what I wanted and turned it into something more beautiful then I could have imagined. She was patient and kind with me too. Thank you. I will be back!

eli gomez Went in for a color correction from green to black and Katelyn did a fantastic job. She cared about the integrity of my hair and did her best to keep it healthy. I was there for a long time (as was the nature of the job) and saw how every stylist there was friendly and welcoming. Each person left with a smile including myself.

Fyre Poppy Starr She didnt do good on the nails,wasnt paying attention the whole time and overcharged me. They were talking bad about my nails. saying how they thought i wasnt a person with much money if i was coming in there.

L The worst nail salon in Ukiah for sure I had apt and the owner told me she wouldn’t do my nails because I had wrote a bad review even tho I have gone there before and never have wrote a review about any business in town as I am a business owner my self and support locally. She proceeded to make a scene In front of other customers and take me in the back and tell me how rude I was even after I showed her my google and yelp account. This was the most unprofessional thing as a fellow business owner and I would never suggest anyone to go here. So now that’s my honest review. She is beyond rude and disrespectful.

Jessica Smith Im not one to get nails done very often. MAYBE once a year. I decided to do some self care and came here with my friend. I showed them what I was thinking and they did it perfectly! She was patient and very sweet and really took her time to get the details just right. Im so impressed with this salon and will definitely return. :)

Katerina Flores Terrible service. I called to ask if they have any availability for a fill for me and a pedicure for my friend the lady on the phone said yes and asked for a name to put the appointment under, I gave her mine and it was pretty effective and simple. My friend and I showed up about 5 minutes early willing to wait and we were rudely greeted by a lady in the middle of doing someone’s nails. She asked if I had an appointment and I gave her my name and what I asked for on the phone she then threw a fit and told me that I needed to tell her I wanted a fill on the phone, when I clearly did. At this point I really didn’t appreciate her talking to me the way she did especially when she could’ve declined my request on the phone if filling my nails was a terrible problem as she made it out to be. She then proceeded to tell me to quickly pick a color and talk badly about me to the customer she was servicing while I was right in earshot to listen. At that point I was pretty irritated and clearly upset. I was not gonna give my business to a company who treats their customers like that especially new ones who gave their business a try. I just walked out and the woman clearly wanted us to come back because she yelled at us to wait. Do not give this business your money, they’re customer service is absolutely horrible.

Smeeta Patel love the service! Tammy is great and I only want her to do my nails:) The other ladies are very nice and do a good job. I usually go with my some and spend a couple of hours there; they care for us. I would recommend this salon.

Tashina Knight Owner was very rude, I parked in her spot because I was going to see about getting my eyebrows done and gt a phone call b4 going in and she came out and told me it was for customers only and when I stated I was coming inn yo get my eyebrows done she stated she had a customer who was needing to park in the spot I was parking in and I once again stated I would be coming in to get my eyebrows done ....honestly I felt it was discrimination cause I was native and the other person was not....
